At 11am the whole class met at the train station. Then we went to the eastbourne pier and the guide that we had told us a few things about the pier. After that we started heading out to beachy head. It took us about 50min until we were up there and it was very mudy. It started raining pretty heavy and we had to wait until it stoped. After it stopped raining we went down to the cliffs. There we had our lunch brake for about 30min and then we walked back to the Shoppingcenter and we had about two hours to do what we wanted. After that we met in front of the Shoppingcenter and our teachers invited us for a ice and we got picked up by our hostfamilies after that.

We met in the refresh room in Ratton school at 8:40 O'clock like usual and everyone was picked up by his buddy. At the first period we had all together German with some other English student, where our teacher informed us that we will have to fly earler to Austria than we were supposed to because of the corona virus. We became really upset some people even cried. After that period we had a normal day with our buddies at the second school break we met in a Class room and had some snacks and drinks with our buddies because it was our last day with them. After that we went in front of the school to take a picture together. And then we had one last lesson with our buddies. After that we said bye to them and went to a park next to the school and played some games. Later on we went to a restaurant, some people took something to eat and the others only ice cream and after that everyone went home.
Marawan and David We got up at 7:30 a.m. as usual and got ready for school. Then we went downstairs for breakfast and left the house at 8:15 a.m. We met our buddies in the cafeteria and started the school-day with dance. After that we had German. For lunch we had rice with chicken-curry. After lunch we had our first chinese- lesson. We learnt how to say „Hello, how are you?“, and „What‘s your name?“. The lesson was very interesting and funny. We also learnt how to „draw“ the different symbols. Then we were separated but had the same subjects : Maths and Science. In Maths we both learnt about factorizing and in Science we went trough the topic Cancer. After our last period we all met in room 102 and talked about the situation because of the coronavirus in Austria and then we discussed the differences from the Ratton School and our school. Most of our classmates liked the Austrian school-system better but would like to sleep longer and have a cafeteria too. Then we all went to our hosts. We had dinner and are now gonna go to bed.
Marlen & Helena On the 11th of March, we spent another day of school. When we arrived there, we met up with the rest of our class, who were waiting in the Cafeteria as usual. My ‘buddy’ (so the person who shows me around at school) picked me up and we went to class. Both me and Sofia had a free period in the first hour, but sadly separate. I must say I was really glad to have my ‘buddy’ with me- I had lost my timetable, and can’t find my way around anyway. Phew!
After that, we (3A) had German Class together with some English Students. That way, they could learn some German, and we could learn more English. As soon as the first three periods were over, everyone was on their way to the Lunch Hall. Everyone was everywhere, trying to get to the Lunch Hall or outside! At least that’s what it seems like to us. I almost got lost (as always) and to make matters worse, I was pretty sure I’d lost my lunch vouchers. Great. The panic wasn’t long-lasting though – my classmates luckily helped me. :) Sofia had some macaroni and cheese and I had some salad and fruit. I always really enjoy the break times (of course!) as we can spend some time with the rest of the class, and talk about what we’ve done today. Both me and Sofia headed back to class post-lunch. When school was over for the English Students, we, 3A, met up in a classroom where we gave a brief feedback to our teachers about how we’ve liked school so far. Since we had some time left-over, our teachers went to the park with us. There, we all bought some ice cream or so, and had a chat at the Café in the park. We all preferred to stay inside, the weather wasn’t exactly amazing. ;) And overall, Wednesday was pretty cool. Hannah and Sofia Today we got up at 7:30 in the morning as always and first we had breakfast. After that we brushed our teeth and got dressed. At 8:20 we left the house and met Rudi and Oscar on the way to school. At about 8:40 we were in school and met our buddies.
Max: My buddy is called Finn, he is very nice and helpful. I had ethics for the first hour, then science. There was a test in both subjects that I even took part in, but I don't think it turned out well. Then I had lunch with some new friends. The third hour was unusual because we could speak German for the first time in a school lesson. We were divided into groups with other students from the Ratton school who chose German as their learning language. It was an exciting experience because we learned from each other. After the German class, I had geography, which was pretty boring because we had a test on a topic I had never heard of. I had math in the last hour, it was surprisingly my favorite subject that day! As the teacher was really nice and we had already learned the math stuff, the lesson was very pleasant. Then we met Prof. Kerschdorfer and Prof. Prantner in an IT room where we described the 3rd day of our trip, Sunday. Luis: First I had PE but unfortunately I couldn't do gymnastics because of my injury. I had art afterwards and had to draw dragons. After that it was lunch and I had pasta with meat balls. Then my whole class was together again and we had a kind of German course where we had to speak German with the students. In English we analyzed the spelling in a text excerpt from war of the worlds. Next was a big break that we spent in the school yard. Then I had math where I had to solve bills on tablets. In the last hour our class was reunited and we had to make all blog entries for Sunday and a video about the 3B that was here 2 years ago. After school, Luis and I, as well as Rudi and Oskar, went home together. When we got home we played with the dogs and talked to our host parents about the great day. (Maximillian und Luis) Today was the 9th of March and we were all so excited because it was our first school day. We met at 8:40 in front of the school. We got our pullovers and met our buddies, they were all really nice. The buddies showed us the school and we had exactly the same timetable as them, that means that our class wasn’t together in the same classroom. Sometimes two people from our class were in the same lesson. After the second lesson we had lunch in the canteen. There were different types of food, so everyone was able to eat what he prefers. After lunch we had again two hours of school. After those two lessons the students of Ratton School went home because the teachers had a conference. Our class stayed there till 4:15, because we had a lesson with Mr Reene, where we were talking about Theme Parks (Freizeitparks). In a group of three, four or five we had to do a little presentation about a new part of the Phantasia-Land. (That means that every group had to think of a new rollercoaster, mascot, souvenirs and a logo.) That was quite funny! After that, we all went back home to the host families.
That was our first day at Ratton School! By: Hannah Hanser and Meryem Polat! On Sunday some students spent time with their host families and others discovered Eastbourne. Therefore, each one of them wrote their own blog entry:
Today we were supposed to meet at 8:40 a.m. at the train station but Anita, our host mum and I went out of the house around 8:40 a.m.! Of course we were the last people to arrive there but at least we didn't miss our train.
The train, we were going to use and go to London came at 9:01 a.m.. At 10:30 a.m. we arrived in London! First we went to the Buckingham Palace where everyone made many pictures and videos of it. We even "saw" the Big Ben, but they are still renovating it. After that we went to The National Gallery where we saw Pickachu, a lady riding Rollerskates and asking for money LOL and 3 guards on their horses. There were so many people around the horse petting it, that the guard sitting on it shouted! I don't think anyone understood what he said. Then we went to the London Bridge, Covent Gardens, to Starbucks and M&M World. After all of those amazing places we went back to Eastbourne. We had A LOT of fun in London but we were also very exhausted afterwards. Blog written by: Benita and Anita First, we met at 10:30am, at Innsbruck Airport, everyone was very excited. We checked in for Flight Easy 8294. When we got on the Airbus A320 Plane, everyone was very nervous, some of my classmates had their very First flight of their whole life. When we were airborne, we had lots of fun and 5 people sat in a 3 seated row. During the approach to London Gatwick Airport (LGW), we had strong gusts of wind. Anyway, the landing was a butter, which means was excellent. After the flight, we got our luggage back, called our parents and headed to the bus stop. While the coach was driving towards Eastbourne, everyone was a bit tired, but happy. When we arrived at the beautiful Eastbourne, we went into the shopping centre. Many shops offered some weird stuff in the tyrolean language „Glumpad” and a big sortiment of sweets. After that we went to ratton school and got to know our lovely host families. It was a nice day but also challenging !
